I'm proud to showcase a label design for a cutting-edge HVAC circuit board that embodies both innovation and practicality. This board isn't just a standard OEM replacement; it takes the functionality to the next level by incorporating NFC technology for effortless programming.

The true innovation lies in the convenience it offers to HVAC technicians, allowing them to program the control remotely from their vehicle using a phone app—bypassing the physical strain of manual programming in tight, often uncomfortable spaces like basements.

Designing the label for such a revolutionary product posed a unique challenge due to the board's irregular shape. My aim was to direct the technician's attention immediately to the NFC programming point. By utilizing bold colors and creating a target-like visual around the "PLACE PHONE HERE" instruction, I transformed the label into a functional infographic that guides the user intuitively through the programming process. This careful consideration of design and functionality underscores the label's value as an integral part of the product experience.

These are 2 earlier design ideas that were scrapped, thankfully. The one on the left just didn't work and the one on the right, well, let's just say it looked a bit too much like the branding that a certain political party used in Germany in the 1930s and 40s.
